The Art Collection
Among Springfield’s greatest treasures is its art collection, assembled by John Dana Archbold. Beside a few older prints, the collection includes around 15 oil paintings created during the 1980s and 1990s by Dominican artists. These works capture scenes of island life, rural traditions, and Dominica’s landscapes.
Highlights include early paintings by internationally acclaimed artist Earl Etienne, alongside works by Darius, Louison, K. Royer, and others. Together, the collection reflects both the artistic talent of Dominica and Mr. Archbold’s commitment to preserving and celebrating it.
