Welcome to Springfield House

Welcome to Springfield House, a place where history, culture, and nature meet. Built in the 1960s by philanthropist John Dana Archbold, the house preserves both its architecture and its stories. Once home to Archbold’s vision of education, equality, and generosity, it remains today a landmark of resilience and community spirit.

For many years, the adjacent Springfield Guest House was a vibrant community place, known for its classic atmosphere and old-world feel, while the main house itself was never open to the public. Today, for the first time, Springfield House invites visitors inside to experience its history and heritage.

Recognized as one of Dominica’s cultural landmarks, Springfield stands as a symbol of elegance and imagination. Its preservation is of collective importance. Stroll through the gardens, explore the museum, and connect with living history. We invite you to experience the land, meet the people, and help shape its future.
